Matar ki kheer
A payasam recipe with a nice twist. Matar ki kheer is prepared by cooking mashed matar or peas with condensed milk , sugar and cardamoms. An unique green colored kheer recipe with an irrestible taste.
1 ltrs milk
1/2 cup ghee
1cup boiled green peas , crushed
1 cup sugar
1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1 tsp raisins (kismis)
Heat the ghee in a deep pan, add the green peas paste and saute for 5 minutes.
Boil the milk in another deep pan add to the peas, mix well and boil together for 15-20 minutes or till the milk reduces to half.
Add the sugar,cardamom powder,raisins,and cashews, mix well and cook for 10 minutes on slow flame, while stirring continuously.
Serve hot or chilled.
